The Muskoka Novel Marathon organization has posted two more of my winning Chapter Ones! One is a Best Novel Award winner and the other is an Honorable Mention. First, the Best Young Adult Novel Award winner…
THAT’S ME IN THE CORNER is not yet published. It won Best Novel Award in 2010. I have never sought publication for this one. I haven’t even written a synopsis for it. In a nutshell, it’s about a group of friends who prepare for a trip to Kenya where one of the boys falls in love with a Kenyan boy. As homosexuality is illegal in Kenya, there are some issues that arise.
No book cover to share for this one. (-:
The second one is an HONORABLE MENTION from 2014. This is a young adult horror(?). It’s called THE BOOK OF DREAMS. This one has not yet been submitted for consideration anywhere. In short, it’s about a boy who finds a bookstore where all the storefronts are supposed to be abandoned and unused. He is forced by the creepy proprietor to take a certain book home, one that he coveted until he actually got stuck with. Bad things begin to happen and he makes several trips back to the bookstore. It’s never there unless he’s alone…and nobody else can see the book. Also, the proprietor was a mass murderer who died at the hands of an angry mob a hundred years ago.
