Kevin Craig is the author of young adult novels (Summer on Fire, Burn Baby Burn Baby, and, Half Dead & Fully Broken) and adult-themed coming-of-age novels featuring young narrators (Sebastian’s Poet and The Reasons). He lives in Toronto, Canada. His poetry, fiction, and memoir have been published internationally. Kevin is also a playwright. He has had ten short plays produced. Kevin is a member of the Writers’ Community of Durham Region. He was also a founding member on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Writers’ Conference.

Awards & Achievements

  • 2017 – Kevin had 2 plays stage-read by Theatre 3×60 theatre group. The History of Us and King of the Crease were read by the group in front of an audience at Church of the Ascension, Port Perry on August 1st.
  • 2017 – Kevin’s story The Half Drawn Girl will be published in the upcoming ID Press Anthology ALLUCINOR.
  • 2017 – Kevin’s short story Helen Makes Her Way to After won 3rd Place in the Writers’ Community of Simcoe County’s Word by Word Short Story Contest READ IT HERE.
  • 2017 – Kevin was awarded the 2017 WCDR Gail Mercer-MacKay Scholarship from the WCDR.
  • 2017 – Horror Anthology PURGATORIUM released – Kevin’s story Dubious Pickles and the Curiosity of Arbour Levesque is featured in the anthology.
  • 2016 – Muskoka Novel Marathon – Best Adult Novel Award for I Will Tell the Night
  • 2016 – Kevin’s 4th Novel, BURN BABY BURN BABY was chosen to be listed on the 2016 Official IN THE MARGINS Book Awards List

  • 2013 – Kevin was a Playwrights’ Mentoring Project Recipient for the 2013 InspiraTO Festival. They had two 10-minute plays produced at the festival in Toronto, Ontario at the Alumnae Theatre.

  • 2012 – Kevin was shortlisted for the WCDR Whispered Words Prose Contest. His story, Sun’ll Come, appears in the anthology
